The Federation of Tamil Associations of North America (FeTNA), an umbrella body of more than 30 Tamil organisations across the United States, said on Monday that it would boycott films starring Asin because of her visit to Sri Lanka.

This decision comes a day after the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) said on Sunday that a joint consultative committee would decide on the action to be taken against actors visiting Sri Lanka.

Karunaas today filed a complaint with Chennai city police alleging that he has been receiving threats from Naam Thamizhar organisation against his proposed trip to Kandy Kadirgamar Temple in Sri Lanka.

Speaking to reporters at the Commissioner office complex, Karunaas said, "I am getting SMS and calls from people allegedly owing allegiance to Naam Thamizar organisation threatening me not to go there."

Karunaas said he was supposed to go to Kandy to fulfill a religious vow.

Director Seeman who is presently lodged in Vellore prison is slapped with National Security Act by the Tamil Nadu government today.

Seeman was arrested last week allegedly for making an inflammatory speech during a demonstration organised in Chennai to condemn the cruel attacks on Rameswaram fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy.
