Two LTTE leaders killed

The two LTTE area leaders were killed in the latest confrontation at Mulaitivu area on Thursday, the military said.

 

It said LTTE radio communication had confirmed the death of the two LTTE area leaders Kabaitheban and Mohilan.

 

Meanwhile, troops in a cordon and search operation recovered 74 anti personnel mines and seven Improvised Explosives Devices in Kumalamunai area at Welioya. In the same area heavy clashes also occurred, with the troops inflicting damage on the LTTE terrorists.

 

In Kilaly troops destroyed an LTTE bunker defence line following an intense rocket propelled grenade attack.

Two more LTTE cadres were killed by sniper fire from troops at separate locations close to LTTE defences at Kilaly and Nagarkovil, a military source said.
