Sri Lanka rupee hits new low of over 1 year-dealers

The Sri Lankan rupee <LKR=> fell 0.36 percent in trading on Tuesday to its lowest level in more than a year of 111.90/112.00 a dollar, dealers said.

It last hit that level on Oct. 26, 2007, Reuters data showed. Currency dealers from two foreign banks and three local banks confirmed the rupee was trading at above 111.90 level and said there was no intervention to support the currency.
