‘Anandhapurathu Veedu’ shooting cancelled because of caste clash

image Because of rumours about the polio vaccine, the shooting for ‘Anandhapurathu Veedu’ has been affected.

Those mothers, who had given their children polio drops were scared out of their wits when a rumour spread yesterday afternoon that many children who had been given the drops had died. Only when the govt announce dthat it was only rumour, the unrest came to a close.

This rumour affected the shooting of ‘Anandhapurathu Veedu’ produced by Shankar and directed by Naga. Featuring Nanda and Chaya Singh, the shooting is being done at a village near Coimbatore .

Yesterday, because of the polio death scare, the village people of Senranpalayam did a road roko. They accosted the care of a village elder who came that way. The elder in the car and the people doing the strike belong to different castes. The confrontation turned into a caste fight.

Gownders and low castes clashed turning the village into a war zone. So about 500 policemen were sent to the village and curfew imposed. The shooting of ‘Anandhapurathu Veedu’ was happening near Senranpalayam. Because of the problems, the cops ordered that the film shooting cannot proceed. So the shooting that should have happened today, has been cancelled.
