The rift between director Lingusmay, his production house Tirupathi Brothers and Nayanthara deepened with the actress filing a complaint against the producer and director. In her complaint, Nayan stated that she waited for Payya to hit the floors for three months after being paid an advance of Rs. 15 lakhs. The film failed to commence as per schedule, as its male lead Karthi was held up with his project Aayirathil Oruvan.
It may be recalled that the production house agreed to pay her Rs. 1.20 crores for starring in the film. In Nayan’s complaint to the Nadigar Sangam, she had stated that she was blackmailed by the producers that the film’s shooting would commence only if she agrees to reduce her salary.
