Sri Lanka Deputy Minister gheraoed,Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) men held

As many as 45 volunteers of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) were arrested when they displayed black flags and attempted to gherao Sri Lanka Deputy Minister for Fisheries Meomal Perera at Karaikal today.

According to the reports reaching the police headquarters here, Mr Perera along with his family was on a visit to Velanganni church. He was staying at Karaikal since yesterday.

The VCK volunteers, who were returning after the party’s Chennai meeting yesterday, came to know that the Lankan minister was staying in Karaikal.

They resorted to the agitation to protest the alleged attack on innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka by the Sri Lankan Army.
