Don’t ever come near me for a sister role, she splutters like serial crackers.
‘When she danced with Dhanush for the song ‘Palakkadu pakkathile…’ in ‘Yaradi nee mohini’, there were expectations that she will go round a full circle. But the fate of Tamil cinema is that the first role becomes unavoidably permanent. Saranya, it seems, has not got out of its clutches.
Acting in films like ‘Jeyamkondan’and ‘Arumuham’ Saranya had to contend with sister’s role. Having had enough of it, Saranya now says, ‘never ever sister’s role’.
“I am doing Bharath’s sister’s role in ‘Arumuham’. That is because I agreed to do it before I became a heroine. From now I will only be a heroine”. I am the heroine of the recently released ‘Panjamirtham’ and ‘A aa e ee’. Following them, I am doing heroine’s role in ‘Eeram’ and ‘Vennila kabbadi kuzhu’.
