Law College students abstain classes on Lankan Tamils issue

A section of students of Government Law College today abstained from attending classes in protest against the attacks on innocent Tamils by the Sri Lankan Army.

The students also staged a demonstration at Mannarpuram area with the support of students from various colleges. They urged the Union Government to interfere into the Lankan Tamils matter and ensure immediate ceasefire in the island nation.

Meanwhile, a section of lawyers of Bar Association, Thuraiyur, near here boycotted the court proceedings and sat on a day-long fast in front of the Judicial Magistrate court condemning the killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
