Asin wins Star Screen Award for Ghajini

image Asin is on a winning streak everywhere she goes. This time it is Bollywood. The magic she wove on Bollywood and its millions of fans all over the world through the record-breaking box-office-stormer Ghajini has turned all eyes on her. She has recently won the ‘Most Promising Newcomer (Female) award’ for Ghajini at the Nokia 15th Annual Star Screen Awards.

To the surprise of some Bollywood pundits and joy of all her well-wishers and fans, she clinched the award from Anushka Sharma (of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi) who was believed to a strong nominee for the award.

Talking to a Mumbai daily on her approach to films, Asin Thottumkal said she signs up for a movie only if she likes the narrative. Before taking up any new project, she evaluates it by the script, followed by her role, director, banner and co-stars. That goes to show how much she gets involved with her every role.

Asin delivered a stunning performance in the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Ghajini. Starring opposite ace actor Aamir Khan, Asin won many accolades and ovations for her realistic portrayal of the heroine’s character. With Ghajini, the South Indian beauty has entered Bollywood with a bang. Booked for a series of films, Asin will be seen next in London Dreams opposite Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan. Great going Asin!
