Nedumaran accuses govt of false propaganda

The newly formed Sri Lankan Tamil Protection Front today charged the DMK government with indulging in false propaganda by stating that the February 4 general strike or bandh call given by them was ‘illegal’.

The Front convenor P Nedumaran in a press release here, pointed out that such strikes or bandhs have been observed in West Bengal and Kerala, even after the Supreme Court had declared them as illegal.

Declaring the general strike as illegal was only meant to ‘intimidate’ those who were voluntarily participating in it, he alleged.

Neduraman requested those participating in the strike to observe strict discipline and not to indulge in any violence.

He also appealed to the general public to support the general strike by staying indoors that day.
