image Vivek, the first Tamil Comedian to be bestowed with the prestigious Padma Shri award, is still to overcome the loss of veteran comedian Nagesh.
A great fan of Nagesh, Vivek has said that he enjoyed the legend’s well-acclaimed films, ‘Server Sundaram’, ‘Kadhalikka Neramillai’ and ‘Neer Kumizhi’.

On his work in Tamil Cinema, Vivek said, ‘the ultimate recognition for an actor is when the last person leaving the cinema hall is thoroughly impressed by the performance. Ultimate recognition is when I successfully reach out to the audience while giving my 100 per cent’, he said.

Vivek also feels there should be a ‘Best comedian’ category when the National Awards are given away. This way, regional comedians can attain national fame.
The actor, who is known for highlighting social issues like female infanticide, bribery and corruption in his comedies, also feels that public figures owe a responsibility towards their fans and should conduct themselves in the right manner.
