Most filmmakers these days prefer to film in obscure locations or forests. We have seen Mani Ratnam holding Ashokavanam/ Raavan’s shooting in the little-known jungles of Madhya Pradesh and Kerala; we also saw Selvaraghavan shooting Aayirathil Oruvan in forests and villages of South India. The latest to join this bandwagon is A. Jawahar, who is holding the shoot of Kutty (Dhanush-Shriya) in a village on the border of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh (beyond Srikakulam).
With the completion of this shoot, Kutty will be almost complete except for a few songs. There are plans to shoot these songs in never-before-seen locations in and outside India.
Kutty is the remake of the popular Tollywood movie Arya, which made Allu Arjun a household name throughout Andhra Pradesh. With Jawahar and Dhanush teaming up for this tested theme, the film’s success is a cinch. Moreover, the Dhanush-Shriya pair was a big hit with audiences in Thiruvilayadal Aarambam, a reason which made Jawahar choose Shriya over Nayantara for Kutty.
Dhanush is also acting in Aadukulam opposite Trisha under the direction of Vetrimaran, the director who made him famous through Polladhavan. With film pundits predicting that both these films will do well, it looks like Dhanush will be the king of box office this year with the maximum number of hits;
