Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday deplored Sri Lanka’s `aggressive behaviour’ in the Tamil-dominated areas recently liberated by its forces.
Addressing a media conference, he said that India had been reasonably successful in putting pressure on Colombo to lower the level of hostility and ensure the safety of the Tamils.
"I am fully with the Tamil people," he said pointing out that the Tamil civilians in Lanka had grievances. "Lanka will have to look into them."
He, however, termed the LTTE as a terrorist organisation and made it clear that his opposition to the outfit had something to do with its role in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.
