Movies can run sans Asin and Nayan, says Ameer!

image Satyam theater today hosted the trailer and audio release event of Varnam. Directed and produced by M S Raju, Varnam stars Monica in the lead as a school teacher with a bunch of debutantes. The trailer of the movie was launched by eminent cinematographer Madhu Ambat and was received by Subramaniapuram Sasi, while the audio was released by Balumahendra and was accepted Ameer.

Among the 5 songs in the movie, scored by Isaac Thomas, 3 were screened of which Veerapandi Boomiyile and Varnam Muzhuvadhum proved to be treat to the eyes and ears with their fresh feel. Isaac Thomas is significant with the heart warming music of Adoor Gopalakrishnan movies and has scored for around 5 of the notable director’s movies.

While speaking in the event, Balumahendra got nostalgic comparing the movie with the yesteryear classic Azhiyada Kolangal. “I’m sure this movie would be received well by the audience for its treatment of subject about school children,” he asserted before adding that Monica reminds him of the late actor Shoba who played a teacher’s role in Azhiyada Kolangal. Balu also revealed that Isaac was his batch mate at the Pune Film Institute before taking up music as a full time career.

Ameer, who briefly addressed the gathering expressed satisfaction that new-age movies are proving to be super hits ‘despite the absence of the Superstar or Nayanthara and Asin’ which is a healthy trend.
