Miliband effigy burnt in Sri Lanka – Channel 4 News

More than a thousand Sri Lankans have joined protests outside the British Embassy in Colombo, burning an effigy of Foreign Secretary David Miliband.

The protest in the capital erupted hours after the rebels essentially conceded defeat in their quarter-century war with the Sri Lankan government.

Protesters, who claim the Government supports the Tamil Tiger rebels, threw rotten eggs and stones and threw the burning Miliband effigy into the embassy compound.
