Malay Indian group calls for trade boycott of Colombo

The Malaysian Indian Business Association has called for a trade boycott of Sri Lanka in an effort to pressure its government to address humanitarian concerns in the war-torn state.

Association president P. Siva­kumar expressed hope that all Indian-owned businesses in Malaysia would support the call, Malaysian Nanban reported.

He said all businesses should make the stand on humanitarian grounds, adding that trade squeeze was the most effective form of pressure.
