173 detained students in Vavuniyaa camps qualified to enter university

One hundred and seventy three students currently being detained in camps described as internment camps in Vavuniyaa, are qualified to enter the Vavuniyaa campus of the Jaffna University for the forthcoming academic year.

Registration of these students by university authorities is to commence Wednesday in camps where they are detained, education sources in Vavuniyaa said.

Meanwhile the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor Mohan Samaranayake is to visit Vavuniyaa Tuesday to meet A/L students detained in camps and the students who are qualified to enter university, the sources further said.
