Relief materials for Sri Lanka to be sent today

The ship carrying relief materials for Sri Lankan Tamils will leave Chennai harbour by noon on Thursday. This will be the fourth installment of the materials being sent by the State government. The Rs. 15-crore consignment is likely to reach Colombo on Saturday.

The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka will ensure distribution of the materials through agencies of the United Nations, according to an official of the State Public Department.
