Displaced Muslims from Jaffna to be resettled

Minister of Resettlement and Disaster Relief Service, Risath Bathiyutheen, who is on a visit to Jaffna met Jaffna Government Agent (GA) Wednesday and discussed possibilities of resettling displaced Muslims in their original places, sources in Jaffna said. The minister has also called for a report from the GA on renovating Omaniya College in Jaffna where a small number of Muslim students attend classes.

The Minister also visited Koappaay Teachers’ College Training school which is allocated to Muslim students displaced from Mannaar and Eastern Province and discussed resettlement and rehabilitation matters with the displaced Muslims.

The minister has ordered action to be taken to renovate Osmaniya College and requested the GA to submit a report related to the resources, facilities and buildings needed for the project.
