Chandrika Kumaratunga visits Kumarakom

Former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga has arrived at Kumarakom near here on a private visit.

She arrived from Thiruvananthapuram last night after calling on Chief Minister V S Achutanandan at the Secretariat.

Kumaratunga on her arrival told reporters that she wanted to visit Kerala for a long time and this is for the first time she is coming here.

"Kerala and Sri Lanka have historic associations and similarities especially in food habits," she said.
