When filmmakers were thinking that Gauthami had stopped acting, the yesteryear actress clarified that she never openly declared that she did not want to act again. The actress has recently confessed that she nurtures an ambition to do character roles in films again. The actress was seen in a 1999 Kannada film ‘Cheluva’ after a long gap.
Like some of her contemporaries like Radhika, she too has decided to bag opportunities that came her way on the small screen. Resultantly, she is doing a role in Tamil serial Abirami, produced by Abirami Ramanathan. About the role, Gowthami said that she is playing a woman with high self-esteem. Unlike other mega serials, Abirami has been scripted with a lot of research and will be fast paced and shot in outdoor locations.
“I am ever-ready to act again if good opportunities come my way,” she said in a recent interview.
