M.I.A. Hits Back New York Times’ Journalist in New Song

converse movie award afterparty  Dimitri Halkidis WENN M.I.A. continued her feud with Lynn Hirschberg, the journalist who wrote an "unflattering" story about her on New York Times. In a new song "I’m a Singer" posted on her official website over the weekend, she slammed the writer.

"Why the hell would a journalist be thick as s**t," the 34-year-old singer/songwriter sings on the hook. "You can talk s**t to me I’m used to it / You make me hard with the wounds that I have to lick / You can pick on me and I can see it at a click".

Also, the Grammy-nominated singer, who is going to release a new album in the U.S. on July 13, posted an excerpt of her interview with the journalist in an effort to prove that she has been misquoted. In the audio clip, the two are heard making a small talk about French fries.

Previously, M.I.A. responded to the article by posting the journalist’s personal phone number on her Twitter. "CALL ME IF YOU WANNA TALK TO ME ABOUT THE N Y T TRUTH ISSUE, ill b taking calls all day b**ches ;)" She followed it up with another message, "NEWS IS AN OPINION! UNEDITED VERSION OF THE INTERVIEW WILL BE ON neetrecordings THIS MEMORIAL WEEKEND!!!"
