HC seeks information from Centre on Devananda case

The Madras High Court today sought information from the Centre about the action taken by it on a representation by a city advocate to initiate steps for the arrest of Sri Lankan Minister Douglas Devananda in connection with a 1986 murder case against him here.

"The government advocate is directed to get instructions as to the steps taken on the representation given by the petitioner," the court said in its order on a petition by a pro-Sri Lankan Tamils forum seeking immediate arrest of Devananda.
