The DMK will be routed in the coming Assembly elections, predicted MDMK general secretary Vaiko here on Sunday.

He explained that in the emerging political scenario, the AIADMK alliance was in a very strong position and it was going to win the next Assembly elections.

When asked whether he expected any re-alignment of political forces, he said he didn’t want to discuss that now.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said after AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa’s meet at Coimbatore, the DMK was rattled and in utter confusion over its prospects in the elections and about the alliance with the Congress.

The DMK government has courted the wrath and resentment of all sections of people in the state as the price rise, power cuts and deteriorating law and order situation has made life tough for them.

He said an unproclaimed emergency-like situation prevails with the government trying to “crush the Opposition using police force”.
