ENDLF wants another IPKF to implement 13th Amendment

In an ‘extraordinary meeting’ convened in Bangalore, Saturday and Sunday, Eezham National Democratic Front (ENDLF), a paramilitary group based in India, passed a resolution urging India to send a ‘new peace making force’ to fulfil the promise made by Rajiv Gandhi on the North-East Provincial Council. If India can’t help it should constitute a higher level international committee of countries that accommodated the refugees to bring in justice, the resolution further said. ENDLF, mainly having former members of PLOTE and led by Paranthan Rajan, is a pro-Indian militant outfit created by the Indian intelligence agencies to defend the Indian agenda in the late 1980s. The ENDLF sacrificed 1700 of its cadres pinning faith on the promise made by Rajiv Gandhi, the resolution said.

“We cannot live any longer in fool’s paradise hoping in vain that Sri Lankan government will condescend to agree to give us a free and peaceful life,” the resolution observed.

The ENDLF urged India to conduct judicial inquiry on the carnage of Tamils by Sri Lanka. It requested India to maintain the refugee camps in Tamil Nadu properly and also requested the central government to free the refugees from the fear of the Q Branch (Tamil Nadu state police intelligence), which according to the resolution intimidates and treats the refugees as slaves.

The ENDLF wanted India to stop Sinhala colonisation, evict those who were brought in after 1948, stop the construction of Buddhist temples in Tamil land, demolish those that were already constructed, and wanted India to evict Sinhala fishermen colonised the north-east coast.

For a brief period of three years when the IPKF was there the colonisation was stopped, the resolution pointed out.

Parallel to former RAW Deputy Director, Dr. Chandrasekaran’s briefing to the diaspora in London, the ENDLF resolution in Bangalore is another probing exercise of India, political observers said.

As the TamilNadu state elections are approaching soon there will be a conning competition between the Congress and the DMK, the observers also said, citing the exposure of the Q Branch.
