600 foreigners deported from Sri Lanka since January this year

More than six hundred foreigners, most of them are of Indian nationality have been deported in this year from January to November for having entered the country on tourist visa but working in various capacity. In the last three months since August about three hundred foreigners have been deported, according to Sri Lanka’s Immigration and Emigration Department.

Citizens of Pakistan, Bangladesh and China are also included among the deportees.

Most of them were employed in restaurants and jewellery shops.
