As part of the settlement,  Prabhu Deva has consented to give his sea side villa at Injambakkam, a bungalow in upmarket Anna Nagar along with three flats and a property in Hyderabad and two cars to Ramlath at an estimated total market value between Rs 25-30 crore. He will pay a one-time alimony of Rs 10 Lakh to Ramlath and also take care of the educational and medical expenses of their two sons.

Ram Lath was an actress before marriage to Prabhu Deva and the couple had three children of which one son died of cancer. Their marriage was solemnised as per Hindu rites and customs in September 1995. They have been living separately for more than two years following difference of opinions. Three months ago Ramlath filed a petition seeking restoration of conjugal rights on Prabhu Deva’s alleged affair with actress Nayanthara and the consequent neglect of his family. Anyhow they have now decided to seek divorce admitting that all efforts taken by mediators and elders in their families to resolve their marital problems had failed.
