Isle of Man government donates aid to Sri Lanka

_50731141_batti More than £40,000 in emergency aid has been pledged to support relief efforts in Sri Lanka after heavy monsoon rains devastated the country.

The overseas aid committee will support the work of charities, Y Care International and Care International.

Both organisations are helping to protect people from waterborne diseases in flood-hit areas.

The committee has also donated more than £8,000 to UNICEF to help support political refugees in Liberia.
