Sri Lanka has sinister plans in confiscating lands of Mu’l’livaaykkaal

Sri Lanka has sinister plans to confiscate the three large coastal villages, Mu’l’livaaykkaal East, Mu’l’livaaykkaal West and Ampalavan Pokka’nai, where the last stages of the Vanni war took place. Original inhabitants of 18 hamlets of the villages are not allowed to resettle and there are secret plans to relocate them to confiscate the stretch of rich marine wealth, said a press release of the Tamil National People’s Front (TNPF). Mines are still the pretext, but even after 22 months the SL military has not even permitted de-mining the land where thousands of Eezham Tamils and their fighters sacrificed their lives. Meanwhile, with Chinese assistance, colonial SL occupying the country of Eezham Tamils has recently built a fortress-like military base over a cemetery of the LTTE heroes at Koappaay in Jaffna.

In 27 GS areas in the Puthukkudiyiruppu, Karaithu’raippattu and Oddusuddaan divisions of the Mullaiththeevu district the de-mining process has not started yet. 38,452 people of the Mullaiththeevu district are not resettled yet. Sri Lanka says that it still conducts ‘searching’ operations in the district, it will take a long time for it to permit de-mining and it will take another long time to complete the de-mining.

On the pretext, Colombo is secretly working for demographic changes aiming at eliminating the country of Eezham Tamils. This is a gross violation of international norms of human rights. Sri Lanka on its own will never stop grabbing lands of Tamils. An international case in this regard has to be made against Sri Lanka and there should be an international intervention, the TNPF press release said.

Formal requests and press releases made by Tamil parliamentarians are ineffective. This matter has to be taken to the UN. Even the diaspora organisations are not taking care in this regard. The diaspora should press the UN Human Rights Council and the governments of its countries to bring in solutions, the TNPF further said.

Meanwhile, commenting on the situation, a left-wing Tamil politician said: “The three powers, USA, India and China that contributed to Colombo’s war against Eezham Tamils, continue to find Sinhala militarization of the Tamil country serving their greed in the island.”

“None of them show even a fraction of the interest they demonstrate in grabbing economic and strategic concessions through Rajapaksa regime in resolving issues in the island that are of wider interest to humanity.”

“The way the war-crimes military generals are laundered as diplomats and honoured as ‘peace laureates,’ and the way an ethnic Army is deployed in permanent and widely dispersed bases not only to terrorise another people but also to be used as economic forces doing agriculture, business etc., indicate that all the said powers have decided it as a policy to actively contribute to an imperceptible transformation in the island towards an institutionalised ‘Sri Lankan’ model ethnic-military rule.”

“Unless the civilised world gives enough pressure on these powers to alter their approaches towards the island and unless the people in the island demonstrate that the greedy powers cannot have their ways through such means, the Rajapaksa administration and the SL military will go unchecked not only in their genocide against Tamils but also in militarizing the entire island.”

“Very soon the Sinhalese will realise the wider justification that was lying in the all-alone way the Eezham Tamils fought their liberation war,” the left-wing politician said.
