‘Murderers, arsonists having a free run in TN’

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi should alone be blamed for the deteriorating law and order situation in the State, charged AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa.

Addressing a poll meeting at Chithodu, near Erode, on Friday evening she asked what action was taken on the murderers of ex-minister T Krishnan, those who set ablaze a newspaper office at Madurai and those who attacked a VC and government officials.

She also questioned what action was taken on former minister NKKP Raja who was involved in a land grab case.

In the double murder incident in Chennai also, so far no proper action has been taken and the culprits were moving around freely.

For good governance, maintenance of L&O and power situation are two important factors. But, Karunanidhi has transformed the ‘once power surplus TN’ into a power deficit State.

When Lankan issue was at its peak, he made a drama of observing fast for three hours and withdrew the stir announcing that the war had stopped in Lanka. But, lakhs of people were killed at that time. If AIADMK was in power, it would have immediately withdrawn its support to the Centre on the issue, she noted.
