The price of peace in Sri Lanka

For years, the main city of northern Sri Lanka, Jaffna, was the centre of a war zone, changing hands between the Tamil Tigers and the government.

Now, two years after the government’s war victory, the economy is, in many ways, bouncing back. However, steep rises in prices and property rental costs are making life difficult for some local people.
