SLA destroys traces of Pirapaharan’s house in VVT

Sri Lanka Army Mondah night deployed a large number of troops at Aaladi in Valveddiththu’rai, surrounding the already demolished house, where Mr. Velupillai Pirapaharan, the leader of the Lieration Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), was born and raised. The soldiers who came in armoured vehicles were engaged throughout the night in destroying the remaining structures of the already demolished house.

Even though the occupying SLA has demolished the house of Mr. Pirapaharan last year, there were still visitors, especially from South, showing interest in visiting the premises every day, despite the SL Army has been turning them back.

On Monday night the SLA was busy removing every stone away from the premises, residents told TamilNet.

The LTTE leader’s house was partly destroyed by the occupying Sri Lanka Army in 1996 when the SLA seized Jaffna from the LTTE.

Last year, the SLA bombed the house, and was engaged in removing the traces from the house.

The Sri Lanka government which is bent on obliterating whatever that remains in memory of LTTE has also destroyed thousands of memorial monuments and tombs in the country of Eezham Tamils.
