Two Indians arrested in Lanka for currency fraud

(PTI) Two Indian nationals, allegedly carrying illegal foreign currency worth 17.5 million Sri Lankan rupees and heading to Singapore, were arrested by police here today.

The two from Tamil Nadu state were arrested from Colombo”s neighbouring business district of Pettah, police said.

The Indians were allegedly in possession of US dollars and Euro worth 17.5 million Sri Lankan rupees, and had planned to carry the currency to Singapore illegally.
