Airbus A380 makes first landing in Lanka

(PTI) For the first time ever, the world”s largest passenger airline Airbus A380 landed in Sri Lanka at the Bandaranaike International Airport here.

An Emirates Airbus A380 aircraft on a flight from Sydney to Dubai made a scheduled landing at the airport in the Sri Lankan capital yesterday, an emirates airlines spokesman said today.

Airbus A380, a wide bodied, four engine jet airliner, made a landing for refuelling that lasted for just 53 minutes.

The airport in the capital had modified and improved the facilities to accommodate the A380s, officials said.
