Nasar’s displeasure with Pongal

image Pongal, one of the two biggest festivals in South India is a celebration of harvest. However, when IndiaGlitz contacted ace performer Nasar to wish viewers for Pongal, he refused and reasoned out himself.

"Key for farming is water and irrigation. Today, the Mullaiperiyar issue is highly politicized and so is the Cauvery issue. I’m 54 and belong to the Chengalpet district. But all through these years, waters been flooded only once or twice in there. Why did it dry up? We fight for Mullaiperiyar and Cauvery, but do we have rights to pollute the water within TN? What happened to the Cooum and Adyar rivers? What about the lakes in Nungambakkam and Kodambakkam’s lake areas? Why are temple waters so filthy? All the water sources in TN are polluted, what Pongal wishes am I supposed to give in these instances?" asks Nasar.

What’s your take on Nasar’s views? Do you agree?
