SLAF fighter jet crashes in North Western Province

A Russian-built MiG-27 fighter jet used by the Sri Lanka Air Force against civilian targets in the country of Eezham Tamils during the war, crashed Monday in the North Western Province. The SLAF deployed Russian built fighters to carry cluster bombs on LTTE and civilian targets in Vanni, committing war crimes and crimes against humanity throughout the war.

The SLAF said there was no casualties and that the cause of crash was ‘engine failure’.

The SLAF had deployed foreign pilots to fly its fighter jets during the war against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

The fighter was used to train new pilots when it crashed, informed sources said.

The Russian built bomber with a "crocodile nose," containing laser rangefinder, is capable of carrying large variety of bombs, unguided rockets, and missiles.
