Govt. trying to create a rift within TNA – Sampanthan

18-2Tamil National Alliance’s leader R. Sampanthan said that the government has continuously tried to create a rift within the TNA.

“This has been happening for a long time. The Government has continuously tried to create a rift among us. They stole the only Sinhalese member who was a member of our party. I insisted on giving him nominations at the general election despite objections by a lot of people and he won the election, thereafter the government stole him” he said.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror Sampanthan went on to point out that the government has managed to break all opposing political groups in the country. “ The UNP, JVP, CWC, SLMC and almost every other significant opposing political entity has been broken and I don’t have the slightest doubt that they are trying to create a further rift within our party” he said.
