Resolution on Sri Lanka adopted at UNHRC

The resolution on Sri Lanka was passed at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) a short while ago with  24 countries voting for it and 15 against it.

Eight countries abstained from voting.

Meanwhile the Indian media reported that India voted in support of the resolution.

The resolution urged the government to investigate alleged war crimes during the last stage of its military action against the LTTE.
