Supreme Court allows to withdraw Sarath Fonseka’s appeals

The Supreme Court has allowed to withdraw Sarath Fonseka’s two appeals against the verdict of the white flag case and terminated proceedings on the appeal against the Second Court Martial a short while ago.

Earlier today Lawyers of Fonseka submitted two motions to the Supreme Court. First one was on the three-year jail sentence in the ‘White Flag’ case, which was due to come up for hearing on May 31.

The second one was on the appeal against the second Army Court Martial which sentenced him to a two-and-a-half year jail term over irregular procurements.(SSS)
