Jiiva was returning from Tirupathi to Chennai when he found the road blocked by agitators. These people had taken to the streets to protest some political issues in Andhra Pradesh. The police came and cleared the area but the road was blocked again a little further. This time the police said they were helpless as it was not in their jurisdiction.
Traffic came to a standstill for the next few hours and Jiiva was outraged. He said that as usual only the innocent public are hurt in these situations. Two old people had to be taken to the hospital. Worse, a mother and her newborn who had just been discharged from the hospital had to be helped out of a share auto and the poor woman could barely stand. Jiiva posted photos and vented his anger in a social networking site to register his protest and to increase awareness about such issues.
