British Airways to re-launch flights to Sri Lanka

British Airways(BA) is to resume flights to Sri Lanka in 2013 after a 15-year absence.

BA will fly from Gatwick to Colombo, via Male in the Maldives, from March 31, next year. The carrier stopped flying to the country in 1998 due to the civil conflict.

The service will run three times per week using a three-cabin Boeing 777 including its Club World business class service, which will have 48 seats, and 24 premium economy seats.

Flights go on sale on August 16 and return trips are priced from £595 for economy, £1,316 for premium economy and £2,244 for Club World.
