Vigil beefed up along Kerala coast

Police and Coast Guard have stepped up patrolling in coastal areas here following intelligence reports that a group of LTTE activists might have sneaked in to the state.

Police said several persons had been questioned in this regard and Marine Enforcement and Coast Guard were continuing the vigil.

They said central intelligence agencies had alerted the state that LTTE cadre might sneak in to Kerala coast as part of efforts to regroup after the outfit’s defeat at the hands of the Lankan army in the island nation.
