Blake on Weeratunga in Wikileaks

Former US Ambassador Robert O. Blake in 2006 described President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunga as one of the experienced moderates in the government, but has said that he has little ability to influence the powerful military in the country, a US cable from the WikiLeaks database revealed.

Blake described Lalith Weeratunga as "de-facto National Security Advisor" and "one of the experienced moderates in the government, but has little ability to influence the powerful military."

The cable is classified as ‘Confidential’ and written by Blake after his meeting with Weeratunga on November 7, 2006.
