The SLGA of Ampaa’rai district, who is a Sinhalese, refused to meet the two Tamil heads of civic bodies when they went to hand over an appeal, civil sources said.   The Chairman of the Kaaraitheevu Piratheasa Chapai Mr Selliah Rasiah had asked him to stop the construction of the Vihara where not a Sinhala Buddhist is living, civil sources in Thirukkoayil said.

Aalaiyadivempu PS Chairman Mr Ratnavel Puvitharaj also submitted a memorandum to the Government Agent in this regard.
