The former SLA commander, who has been nominated as the common presidential candidate of the opposition, has filed FR petition seeking the court to order the government to provide adequate security for him and to direct the government to allow him to stay in his official residence, legal sources said.

Fonseka has cited the Defence Secretary Gothabaya Rajapakse, the Inspector General of Police and the Attorney General as cited in his FR petition.
