The Indian National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon will visit the island before the end of this month, the Indian High Commission in Colombo confirmed. However the Sri Lankan Ministry of External Affairs has yet to receive an official communication of his visit.
Unconfirmed sources claim that the visit is a follow up to the United Nations Human Rights Council Sessions in February where India decided to vote against Sri Lanka.
Menon previously served as the Indian Foreign Secretary, the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and in China and Israel as a diplomat. (DS)
