"Recent Tamil rallies were attacked by security forces"

Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE)* announced that worldwide rallies will be held on Tuesday (June 26th) to coincide with Tamil’s non-violent protest on the same day inside Sri Lanka.

Even though Sri Lankan Government has attacked recent peaceful rallies in Jaffna, Tamils are organizing another non-violent protest on June 26th (Tuesday) in Murukandy in Kilinochi district. There are concerns that the government will again attack this peaceful rally.

"While Tamils in Sri Lanka are organizing rallies risking their lives, we will stand by them and organize rallies worldwide. It will be a joint struggle. They will not be alone" said

Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran, Prime Minister of Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE).

"Sri Lankan Government will be sadly mistaken, if it think that silencing Tamil’s inside the island will suppress Tamil’s aspirations. Our battle ground is not confined to North-Eastern part of the island of Sri Lanka, but in any part of the globe wherever Tamils live." he continued.

There are protests against Sri Lankan Government’s attempt to seize Tamil’s lands and plan to settle Sinhalese in those lands. Currently, there are tens of thousands of Sri Lankan soldiers stationed in Tamils areas.
