US to appoint new ambassador to Sri Lanka

U.S. authorities have decided to appoint a new ambassador to Sri Lanka after Ms Patricia Butenis, the present U.S. ambassador in Sri  Lanka.

Accordingly, the U.S.government has sought the permission from the Sri Lankan government  to appoint  Michelle Sison, the present U.S. Deputy Ambassadress in Iraq, as their new ambassador in Sri Lanka.

Ms Sison has served as the U.S. Ambassador in many Arabic countries suffered by political crises.According to the sources, Ms Butenis was transferred to Washington.
